AAAFund Endorses Xavier Becerra for Governor of California

Washington, D.C. — The Asian American Action Fund (AAAFund) is proud to endorse Xavier Becerra in his campaign for Governor of California. A proven leader with a record of delivering for working families, Becerra has consistently fought to expand opportunity, protect immigrant communities, and defend Californians’ rights and freedoms.

The son of Mexican-American immigrants and the first in his family to graduate from college, Becerra has served California as a State Assemblymember, Member of Congress, California Attorney General, and U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services. As HHS Secretary, he helped implement Medicare drug price negotiations projected to save Medicare an estimated $6 billion and reduce out-of-pocket costs for seniors by an estimated $1.5 billion in 2026. He also co-chaired the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders, helping advance federal priorities to respond to anti-Asian hate, improve health equity, and expand access to federal benefits and services. As California Attorney General, he led the state’s legal fight against the Trump Administration, filing 122 lawsuits to protect health care access, immigrant communities, environmental protections, and civil rights.
