AAAFund Endorses Dr. Tina Shah for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th District

Washington, D.C. — The Asian American Action Fund (AAAFund) is proud to endorse Dr. Tina Shah for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District. A practicing ICU physician, former White House advisor, and health policy leader, Dr. Shah has spent her career at the intersection of medicine, public service, and innovation, fighting to improve access to care and deliver better outcomes for patients and families.

The daughter of immigrants, Dr. Shah is triple board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine. She has served in both the Obama and Biden administrations, including as a Senior Advisor to the U.S. Surgeon General, where she worked on national public health initiatives and physician workforce issues. During her career, she has advocated for reforms to lower healthcare costs, reduce administrative burdens on physicians, and expand access to care for underserved communities. Dr. Shah has also been a visible voice for AAPI representation in medicine and public policy, bringing greater attention to health equity, anti-Asian discrimination, and the need for more diverse leadership in government and healthcare.
